How Does It Work?

The 3D-HIFU facelift is performed using a small smooth hand piece that delivers the highly focused ultrasound energy to the treatment area, stimulating new collagen production via targeted input of ultrasound energy into the deep tissue layers of the skin. This heats the tissues, triggering a natural skin response that initiates the body’s healing process stimulating collagen and elastin production. This technology bypasses the skin’s surface and focuses entirely on the deep, structural layers of the skin where collagen is deposited. This means that the surface of your skin is not affected, and after the treatment, you can go about your usual daily activities.

Are The Results Instant?

Although you may see an initial lift following your treatment, results will continue to develop over the following 2-3 months with some patients experiencing continued improvement for up to 6 months. WILL i feel the ultrasound during the treatment?

Yes. What you are feeling during the treatment is actually tiny amounts of concentrated energy being delivery below the surface of the skin. Patients have reported that there can be some discomfort while the energy is being applied but it is short lived and a good sign that the collagen restructuring process has been started. Some patients do take over-the-counter painkillers an hour or so before their treatment to help with any potential discomfort.

is there any downtime or any side effects following treatment?

With the 3D-HIFU treatment there is usually very little downtime. You should be able to return to normal activities right away and there is no special aftercare that you need to undertake, we simply advise that you drink plenty of water post treatment and avoid heat for 24 hours. A low percentage of patients have reported swelling and bruising following the treatment but this should subside over the following days. Any concerns or adverse side-effects should be reported to your practitioner as soon as possible.
