laser tattoo removal
Tattoos have become a large part of todays’ culture with people choosing to ink their bodies for many reasons.
But what happens if you change your mind?
What seemed like a good idea at the time may no longer resonate with your views or lifestyle. Thankfully Laser Tattoo Removal is available here at Evesham Aesthetics Clinic to help remove these unwanted tattoos.
Whether you're looking for a full removal or fading for a new cover-up tattoo, our powerful ND YAG Switched Laser will do the job.
How Does It Work?
The ND YAG Switched Laser is a form of light that specifically targets tattoo pigment in the skin. The pigment absorbs the laser light and is broken down into small fragments. These tiny fragments of pigment are then naturally removed by the body's own lymphatic system over 2-3 weeks following treatment.
How many sessions do I need?
It can typically take 8-12 sessions of laser treatment per area to completely remove a tattoo (the larger the tattoo, the more sessions will be needed) - and depending on the type of ink used, some tattoos will never completely disappear. The time between sessions is usually 6-8 weeks.
does it hurt?
Laser Tattoo Removal is not a painless procedure!! So you must be prepared for a degree of discomfort, it feels like being 'pinged' with an elastic band. We can use a topical numbing cream if you wish but this can slow down the removal process, however, we do have a 'cold handle' that we use on the area before and after the procedure which really does help.
what are the after effects of the treatment?
It is normal to experience inflammation of the skin that comprises redness, swelling, crusting and occasional blistering. This reaction typically lasts a few days and is helped by topical ointment and gentle washing of the skin. Very rarely, scarring of the skin surface and pigment loss can occur.
which areas of my body can be treated?
Most areas of the body can be treated except for the genitalia and mucosa areas such as the mouth, nose and eyelids.
how much will it cost?
Prices are charged per session and start at £35 for a small area (ie finger).
A consultation and patch test at a cost of £25 needs to be carried out 72 hours prior to any full treatment and a quote for your treatment will be discussed at this appointment.
